Skin Pigment Treatment
Skin Pigment (sun spots) also known as age spots, brown spots, liver spots and solar lentigines are, flat, brown or yellow discolorations of the skin. They usually occur on the face, back of the hands and forearms, neck and chest of people as young as 20 years of age.
These brown, flat, round or oval spots are a result of sun exposure over many years. These spots are usually harmless, but can give away a person’s age.
The pulse light targets and destroys unwanted pigment discoloration without harming normal skin. The treatment also restores your skin complexion and stimulates the formation of new collagen, creating smoother skin with less lines and wrinkles.
A series of three to six treatments may be necessary, depending on your skin type and condition.
What happens after removing Skin Pigments?
You may notice some slight temporary bruising or whitening of the area, this is completely normal as these are signs that the laser is removing the birthmark. This soon goes away and you will notice the birthmark fading along with it. Side effects of birthmark removal are extremely rare.
To keep your skin looking great try and stay out of the sun or using sun beds for a few weeks after your treatment. It is also recommended that you use sun cream of SPF 30 or more for a few months.
